Yes, there is a $50 non-refundable fee for the tryout.  It covers the cost of running the tryout.  If you are offered a roster spot on a team, the $50 tryout fee will be credited to your account.

STiKS Academy Softball is working to build a strong brand.  The goal is to have competitive teams at each age level (10u-18u). STiKS will not field a team that isn’t up to the level of competitiveness needed to build and maintain our brand.

We offer competitive teams at the 10u through 18u age levels.  At the 14u through 18u levels, depending on skillset, we will have ‘National’ teams that will compete in ‘A’ and ‘Open’ level tournaments (i.e. PGF Premier; USA(ASA) A and Gold; NSA “A”; Triple Crown Sports etc.).

The STiKS National teams will play a highly competitive schedule beginning in the fall and running through the beginning of August.  The goal will be to earn bids to compete in the age appropriate National tournaments such as the PGF Nationals in California and a USA(ASA) National Tournament.  We also have plans to have the 16u National team to play in the Triple Crown Sports Rising Stars Winter Showcase.  In 2018 this tournament was held in Florida in January.  In addition, each of the National Team will compete in the Wisconsin State USA(ASA) “A”, NSA “A”, and Regional Tournaments for the USA(ASA) and/or PGF associations.

The Regional teams may play in the fall and compete in 1 or 2 of the larger travel tournaments such at the Midwest PGF Nationals or another USA(ASA), or NSA National tournament in a tri-state area but also compete in the larger local tournaments that provide a higher level of competition.

We offer a year-round facility to train in.  We provide top quality coaches along with player development specialists.  We offer camps and clinics to help improve the player throughout the off-season.  In addition, STiKS Academy Baseball has a long and proven track record of assisting elite players the ability to market themselves to colleges nationwide. We are extending that expertise to the softball program to help serious college minded players by providing them opportunities in College Exposure tournaments, create recruiting videos, and track communications with colleges throughout the country.

12u through 18u will range from $1,900 to $2,500 depending on whether the team plays a regional schedule or national schedule. 10u will be between $700 and $900

Final registration fees for each team will be set prior to August 17th, along with the tentative tournament schedule.

Fee payments will be split into 8 monthly installments starting in September.  Payments will be set up to automatically withdraw from either a checking/savings account or on a credit card.

We are planning on having fundraising opportunities to offset some of the financial commitments.

The registration fees will pay for the tournaments each team will play in.  The tournament fees range from $400 to $1,500 depending on the association and the type of tournament.  The team fees also fund team equipment and facility charges along with other items necessary to run the STiKS program.  In addition, each player will receive STiKS softball uniforms (pants, jerseys, socks, belt and optional visor) along with a helmet and backpack.  For returning players, we will look at condition of the helmet, uniforms and backpacks before ordering new ones.  Each player will receive a membership to the STiKS Facility. Your membership includes unlimited access to the facility, the opportunity to do camps, clinics, and private lessons at discounted rates with any of the club coaches.  There is also an opportunity to buy Wilson, DeMarini and Louisville Slugger products at a discount.

Coaches will be contacting players within 24-48 hours after the tryout to offer roster spots. Once offered a roster spot, the player will have 24 hours to accept or decline.  If accepted, a payment of $250 will be required to secure your spot on the team.  Once the rosters are finalized, they will be posted on our website (www.stiksacademy.com), usually within a week following tryouts.

National team practices will begin shortly after final team selection to prepare for any September tournaments.  Regional teams will begin depending on the fall tournament schedule.  Teams will have practice once or twice during the week and then a weekend time slot.  Weekday times are up to the individual teams. The weekend time slots will be between 7:00am and 3:00pm on Saturdays for the fall and winter.  Each team will have a 2-hour slot during that timeframe to be determined by the coach and the team. Any additional practices will be scheduled by the coach and communicated to the teams.

No.  Playing time is something we do not guarantee nor will it always be equal.  It is at the coach’s discretion.

Yes, potentially at the younger age groups but typically not at the high school levels.  Our coaches are not volunteer coaches, they are compensated.  They are selected for their coaching ability and fit into the STiKS Academy coaching philosophy.

There are no guarantees that a STiKS softball player will play in college.    Our job is to provide quality coaching, a facility to help them improve year-round and the opportunity to get in front of the college recruiters by participating in the right tournaments.  We will certainly help guide them in the right direction and help them get in front of coaches but ultimately it is up to the individual player to PRODUCE when given those opportunities.
